Group Meeting Schedule
all are welcome to attend!
Research updates will be done by each group member once a semester. These should be 30-40 minutes long and formal – so include all relevant background, data to date, and future goals. Those doing their 790 research seminar that semester may use this time to do a practice talk. All research talks will be uploaded to our Slack workspace for storage.
Monthly "name reaction talk" should cover a topic relevant to some aspect of our group’s work. It should be done in PPT, and be about 45 minutes long. Get approval from Laina prior to starting your research.
Each week, a graduate students' name will be drawn from a "hat", and they will give a chalk talk on an interesting paper they read in the past week!
Problem sets will be done once a month, and the theme should be discussed with Laina prior to crafting them.
